Hello, my name is Tony.I am a driving instructor living in Waterford, and teaching here for the last 15 years. When I started teaching first, there were no real qualifications for anybody to gain ,so I decided to travel to the U.K . and try to get some official training ,to become a professional driving instructor.I studied under a number of people, including Michael Kavanagh, who is now fleet training manager with IAM (institute of advanced motorists).Under Michael, and a number of other very experienced people involved in the training industry, I was taught how to present a professional driving lesson, in a structured manner ,essential for a learner driver. My training gave me the skills needed to provide a novice driver with all the knowledge required, presented in a structured manner, which was easier for the learner to understand.I found that this professional approach to training beginners ,worked very well indeed. In fact, this tried and trusted method of teaching has now become the standard by which all driving instructors will be measured in the future. I am a fully licenced approved RSA instructor. From 2009, every instructor wishing to charge money for tuition must be RSA registered.
I am a member of the DIAMOND ADVANCED MOTORISTS club in the UK.In order for me to become a member of this club, I had to undergo a DIAMOND ADVANCED MOTORISTS test. This involved more than 1½ hours of driving under very strict supervision from two examiners.Having passed this test first time with an overall score of 97 per cent I became a member of the MASTER DRIVER'S CLUB.I am still a proud member of this club to this day.I believe that I can pass on some of the great experience and knowledge that I have acquired to learner drivers and help them on the way to becoming safe drivers for life. So, please be assured of my very best attention at all times.
